Warmest regards from New York City, where we'll be this Shabbat. Our Shabbaton in Five Towns was cancelled, for many residents there still have no heat or power, and we're talking about ten days after Sandi the "Frankenstorm". But, the Melave Malke in Cedarhurst will still take place as planned, G-d willing.
This morning in Brooklyn, you can see long lines of people waiting for gas with police guarding the gas stations. It literally looks like a third-world country here, but I'll have more on this when I get home, G-d willing, in another week and a half.

Why did Hashem make our patriarchs and matriarchs wait so long before they became parents? Should those of us past the age of forty still be hoping for more children? Or a first child at that? Let's find out:
Shabbat Shalom and warmest regards! May Hashem relieve the suffering of all those whose homes were damaged during Hurricane Sandi. We need Moshiach, soon!"
