The IDF’s former deputy chief of staff, Maj.-Gen. Yair Golan, said before the weekend that Israel cannot prevail against Iran. This is a true statement according to dry military capability, consistent with Mr. Golan's leftist, non-emuna attitude that unfortunately categorizes so much of the IDF brass. But, it ignores one variable - Hashem. Golan was also the general who compared Israeli society to Nazi Germany of the 1930's. The same Mr. Golan was instrumental in building an army of debauchery, which is the IDF acknowledges by its own shocking admission.
Outside enemies, including Iran and Hizbulla, are not the threats to our security. The lack of holiness is. A holy nation has Hashem fighting its battles for it. Woe is the day when Israel must lean on anyone else. Emuna is our only hope.
