Emuna Outreach with the Jerusalem Police

Lb with Jerusalem Police
You can frequently find Emuna Outreach in the hot stops of Israel, such as in the areas of missile attacks in the south and on the Gaza Border. But lately, one of the hottest flashpoints in Israel is Jerusalem, especially the portion that borders on the Arab neighborhoods.

The Police in Israel have suffered from bad raps after several scandals in its upper echelons were uncovered. Yet, the rank-and-file Israeli "blues" (the Israeli nickname for cops - "greens" are IDF soldiers) are doing a phenomenally dedicated job to keep the streets of Jerusalem safe. Sure, terror is on the rise and one must be alert when walking down the streets of Jerusalem, but the press doesn't tell the story of the many terrorist attempts that are foiled.

Emuna Outreach and yours truly had the privilege of spending a morning recently with police forces in the Old City of Jerusalem. We saw first hand what they do and in turn, we gave them a talk about emuna under pressure. They appreciated that because their whole daily lives are pressure-packed. Not only did we speak to Jewish police, but to Arab and Druze police as well. Emuna is universal and everyone deserves to be connected to Hashem.

If you'd like to participate in our efforts to spread emuna not only in Israel but around the world, you can make your online donation by clicking on the "Donate" button at the top left-hand toolbar of this site.

Eliezer Rosenfeld: A Father's Farewell to His Son

Eliezer Rosenfeld, father of 26-year-old Malachi Rosenfeld Hy"d who was fatally wounded in a terror attack Monday evening, delivered a heart-rending farewell to his son at his funeral yesterday in a display of phenomenal emuna. During the eulogy, the grieving father - supported by two of his remaining seven children - sang the words of Rebbe Nachman of Breslev, "Even in the most concealed of concealed moments, certainly Hashem, blessed be He, is also found there." Choked with tears, he continued, urging the tearful audience to join him, and sang, "Even behind the most difficult things that happen to you, I (Hashem) stand, I stand..." Then, Eliezer added in his own words, "And we will stand, we will stand with You, Hashem."

Our hearts break for the Rosenfeld family, who are the essence of all that's beautiful in Eretz Yisrael. They are one of the founding families of Kochav Hashachar, a village north of Jerusalem in Samaria. The Beams, Emuna Outreach and Breslev Israel convey our deepest condolences, and may Hashem comfort them among all the mouners of Zion and Jerusalem, amen.

Gaza War, 2014: The Miracle of Shmita and Matza Shmura

Thanks so much to David Perlow for contribution to today's post:

Hamas had planned its first tunnel attack in last summer's war against Israel (Operation "Protective Edge") under cover of a field of tall green wheat, which they knew wouldn't be harvested for another 8 weeks. But, a group of ultra-Orthodox Jews from Bnei Brak needed to assure themselves of a pre-Shmitta stock of wheat for next year's matza shmura, so they paid top dollar and bought the field. The wheat was harvested early, and the Hamas terrorists got a big surprise. Here's the story as told by an IDF liason officer - pass this around tp your family and friends, for it's a tremendous sanctification of Hashem's name:

New Height of Treachery: USA Exposes Israel's Nuclear Secrets

The ink isn't even dry on our emuna-news op-ed from yesterday, Mr. V Exposed, where I wrote that the disappointed, angry and frustrated White House now wants to revenge against Israel for reelecting Bibi. Well here it is folks - put a grenade in the hand of an arrogant and frenzied individual and there will soon be shrapnel all over the place.

The President of the United States has just betrayed Israel in the most inconceivable way: he has just revealed a stunning amount of information on some of Israel’s most closely guarded secrets, including our nuclear program, complete with photographs. You can believe that there's dancing in the streets of Tehran, Damascus and Beirut this morning. We thank The Jewish Press and our good friend Mark R. from Haifa for the tipoff.

Does anyone still have any doubt about the treachery in Washington, DC? How can any Jew support a regime that intentionally endangers 6 million Jews (does the number sound familiar) in Israel?

One thing I'm delighted about - our prophets said that once the Geula begins, Israel will stand alone with no friends. Terrific, let's get on with the full redemption of our people. Brothers and sisters wherever you are, please come home soon - it's time to leave your Egypt while you still can. Today, your president betrays us, tomorrow he'll betray you. Like I said yesterday, BHO's anti-Bibi psychosis is really anti-Israel, and the anti-Israel is really anti-Semitism. It's all coming down, and things are happening faster than we can write.

The Iron Dome: Success and Failure

Iron Dome Nobody's Perfect
Somebody approached me on the street earlier today and asked, "If Hashem does everything for the best, then why did so many missiles penetrate the Iron Dome's defense system in Ashdod, like the one that landed in the kindergarten on Tuesday?"

I complimented the man for his superb question. I answered him, giving him three reasons:

1. Hashem wants us all to know that He guards over us and not the Iron Dome missile-defense system.

2. Hashem wants us to put all of our faith and trust in Him, and not in weapons, high-tech or anything else.

3. Hashem wants us to see His miracles, like in the case of the gas station, so that we'll all wake up and return to Him.

As such, it is Hashem who is behind the Iron Dome's success and its failures. It's also Hashem behind all of our successes and failures. There is no one but Hashem - ein od milvado!

Concealment Within Concealment

Concealment Breslev
With the war going on and all the hardships we've been living through in the south of Israel, many people ask, "Where is Hashem?"

Rebbe Nachman of Breslev answers in Likutei Moharan I:56 - "Even in a concealment within a concealment, Hashem is certainly there."

Yoeli Klein made a beautiful melody based on Rebbe Nachman's holy words that is taking the world of Jewish music by storm. Here are the original words in transliteration, followed by translation (the first line is Yiddish, and the second two lines are Hebrew):

V'afilu B'Hastora - Even in Concealment

(1) Der Aibishter zogt inz, "Kinderlach, Anochi haster panai bayom hahu", ober di Rebbe zogt

Hashem says to us, "Children, I will conceal Myself on that day", but the Rebbe says

(2) V'afilu b'hastora shebatokh hahastora bevadai gam sham nimtza Hashem Yisborach

Even in a concealment within a concealment, Hashem may He be blessed is certainly there

(3) Gam me'achrei hadevorim hakashim ha'omdim alekha, Ani omed.

And behind the the difficult things that stand before you, I stand.

Here is a beautiful rendition of Yoeli Klein's new hit, performed by our dear friends Menachem Moskowitz and the Yedidim choir from New York. We've felt the bee's stinger, so now let's taste the honey - something good comes out of every tribulation and challenge; don't ever forget that!
