The US Election and Geula: What Really Determines the Outcome?

B'ita Achishena
The outcome of the election in the USA depends on a passage in Isaiah 60:22. Here's how:

The Prophet Isaiah refers to the full redemption of our people and says in the Name of the L-rd, "In its time, I shall hasten it" (Isaiah 60:22), b'ita achishena. Rashi explains that if the people of Israel are worthy, then the Geula will be hastened (achishena). And if not, G-d forbid, the Geula will come on time (b'ita).

"On time" is liable to be a rough scenario, when the people of Israel haven't woken up from their spiritual slumber, forcing Hashem to bring the redemption with a harsh and heavy hand, like a shadow of a bomb following us around. But if they do awaken and strengthen their connection to G-d, the Geula will come as peacefully as a white dove with an olive branch, soon, amen!

Moshiach and Mount Zion

Har Tzion Mezuza
And saviors will ascend Mount Zion to judge the Mountain of Esau, and the kingdom will be Hashem's
(Ovadiah 1:21).

Our sages elaborate on the above prophecy and say that Moshiach and his colleagues will exact retribution from the descendants of Esau, Zion's arch-enemy. Then, everyone will acknowledge Hashem.

Before this happens, Moshiach will enter Mount Zion. With this in mind, I want you to keep a very special image in front of your eyes - the mezuzah on the Zion Gate (image, above), at the entrance to Mount Zion. I was there yesterday, when I visited King David's holy gravesite atop Mount Zion. This is the mezuzah that Moshiach, King David's descendant, will place his hand on and kiss when he comes to fulfill the above prophecy. Some people say that they can see an image of Moshiach wearing tefillin on this mezuzah - can you?

May we all soon greet our holy Moshiach, may he come soon, amen!

Geula: Gunfire or Gardenias?

Gunfire or Gardenias

The Prophet Isaiah refers to the full redemption of our people and says in the Name of the L-rd, "In its time, I shall hasten it" (Isaiah 60:22), b'ita achishena. Rashi explains that if the people of Israel are worthy, then the Geula will be hastened (achishena). And if not, G-d forbid, the Geula will come on time (b'ita).

"On time" is liable to be a rough scenario, when the people of Israel haven't woken up from their spiritual slumber, forcing Hashem to bring the redemption with a harsh and heavy hand. Hashem in His infinite mercy is showing us what that scenario is liable to be, by way of the Iranian nukes, ISIS, and unprecedented anti-Israel State Department and a hostile White House. It's like a loving father shaking his belt in warning to his mischievous child, but the last thing the farther wants to do is to use it...

My beloved rabbi and teacher Rav Shalom Arush told me last night when he came to Ashdod that as much as he hates doomsday prophecies, there is a severely stern judgment hovering above our people around the world. But he also told me that this particular time of the Three Weeks is ever so conducive to teshuva from love and bringing the Geula, the full redemption of our people. If each of us does what he or she can to strengthen and spread emuna - starting with ourselves and our families, then friends and the broader community - we can easily overturn the gzera kashe - the severe decree. That's exactly what Hashem wants us to do. Then, insh'Alla (G-d willing in Arabic) Iran and ISIS will consume one another. ISIS and Hamas will be so much at eat other's throats that won't have time to fire missiles at the south of Israel. Hamas and the PA will battle it out in Judea and Samaria; when the smoke clears from all this ruckus, we shall see, G-d willing, the Geula come with singing and dancing instead of strife. Hizbulla and Iran could end up hating each other too - wait and see...

A compassionately hastened redemption depends on masses of people turning to Hashem in emuna and personal prayer. This is the alternative to a Geula "on time" that defies the scariest adjectives in our lexicon. That's why we spend so much time and effort running around the world trying to spread emuna as fast as possible. Once the missiles start flying, everything else will be meaningless. Let's avoid that.

In the old days, Rav Shalom and I alone would go to army bases and prisons spreading emuna as much as we could. Now, we're sending our kollel men in the afternoon to every prison in Israel to give lessons and provide inmates with emuna books and CDs, all at our expense. There is no better rehab than emuna. Spreading emuna is the "surefire" way to bring the Geula with gardenias instead of with gunfire, with tulips instead of with terror.

Beloved brothers and sisters, you will be asked in the Heavenly Court what you did to spread emuna in your area. What will you answer? You'll have a wonderful answer to say that you partnered with the Minister of Emuna Rabbi Shalom Arush and helped spread emuna all over the globe if you Donate to Emuna Outreach!

Nice and the 9th of Tammuz

Nice, France
How peaceful the above photo seems of Nice, France. Not anymore - Hashem is calling in His markers...

I trod on them in My anger and I trampled them in my wrath...For a day of vengeance is in My heart and the year of My redemption has come. Isaiah 63: 3-4

This past Thursday night, July 14, 2016 which in the Hebrew calendar was 9 Tammuz, 5776, a truck plowed into a crowd in Nice, France during a Bastille Day celebration, trampling and killing more than 80 people and seriously wounding many others.

Has France been "Nice" to the Jews? History says no. On the same night of the Nice massacre, 772 years ago on the 9th of Tammuz, 5004 (1244 CE), the French burned the Talmud. On the same night, they brutally murdered the Baalei Tosephot, history's greatest Talmudic commentators. Any Jew in Paris who was found with any Talmudic volumes in his home was also exiled.

Is it a concidence that the massacre in Nice and the burning of the Talmud as well as the murder of the Baalei Tosephot occurred on the same night in the Hebrew calendar? In Judaism, we don't believe in coincidence. But why now, 772 years later?

According to Isaiah the Prophet, when Hashem begins taking vengeance against the nations for what they did to the Jewish People, the redemption is imminent. The above passage sounds like an exact description of the Nice massacre from this past week. France has become unbearable for the Jews. French anti-Semitism has always been notorious. Hashem says, "Fine - you don't want Jews? Have a taste of ISIS!"

We would all be best-advised - Jews and non-Jews - to open our eyes in emuna and come back to Hashem - the sooner the better.

Prayer for Rebuilding the Holy Temple

Here is the prayer that Rav Shalom Arush composed for us all to  say tonight at 9 PM (Israel, 2 PM NYC) when we all recite the Shema together:

B"H

Prayer for the Rebuilding of our Holy Temple and for Accepting the Yoke of Heaven

Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is One:

(whisper) Blessed is the Name of His glorious kingdom for all eternity.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart. And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit at home, and when you walk along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

The Lord, He is God: (repeat 7 times)

The Lord reigns. The Lord has reigned. The Lord will reign forever: (repeat twice)

Save us, we beseech You, O Lord! (repeat twice)

Forever, O Lord, Your word stands firm in the heavens. (repeat 13 times)

Master of the World, our merciful Father, please have mercy on the Jewish People and on the entire world. Reign over us, You, Hashem and no other, with mercy and compassion. Reveal the glory of Your kingdom upon us. God and God of our fathers, reign over the entire world in Your glory and may Your splendor be over the entire earth, appear in Your majestic power over all the inhabitants of the globe, Your land. May every action know that You acted upon it and may every creation know that You created it, and may anyone with a soul in his nostrils say Hashem the God of Israel is King, and He reigns over everything.

Master of the World, speedily rebuild Your city Jerusalem, and may the throne of Your servant David be speedily established within it, for King David our righteous Messiah shall reign over us in great mercy, with no wars, no terrorist acts and no suffering.

Master of the World, on the Tenth of Teveth, when the Heavenly Court decrees on the building of the Holy Temple, we ask all the tzaddikim – from our forefather Abraham to the tzadikim of today – to all stand in prayer together with us so that the Heavenly Court shall decree that the Holy Temple should be built this year right away, and may we merit that the Holy Temple should be built, for it is the house of prayer of all nations, speedily this month, during the month of Teveth, amen, may it be Your will.

(Singing) And so we put our hope in You, Hashem our God, to see forthright the majesty of Your power, to wipe idolatry of the earth and to utterly sever false gods, to rectify the world in the Kingdom of God and all of living flesh shall call Your name, all the wicked of the earth shall turn to You, every inhabitant of the globe shall recognize and know, the every knee shall bow to You, every tongue shall swear, before You Hashem our God, they will bow and fall prostrate and give honor to Your Name, and all will accept the yoke of Your Kingship (repeat 4 times) and You shall soon reign over them forever. For the monarchy is Yours, and You will rule gloriously forever. As it is written in the Torah: Hashem will rule forever. And it is said: And Hashem shall be King over all the earth and on that day, Hashem will be One and His Name One.

Worldwide Shema Yisrael, Monday, 21 Dec., 2015 - 9PM Israel Time

Shema-yisrael
Here is a critically important announcement that we request you pass on to everyone you know:

This Monday night, 21 Dec., 2015, is the eve of the Tenth of Teveth. This is a fast day that commemorates the beginning of the siege of Jerusalem, which ended in the destruction of our Holy Temple seven months later on the ninth day of Av, or "Tisha B'Av".

My esteemed and beloved teacher Rabbi Shalom Arush quotes the Chattam Sofer osb"m and explains that the Tenth of Teveth was the day that the Heavenly Court decreed that the Temple would be destroyed. Rabbi Arush explains further in the clip below, which I haven't had time to dub with English subtitles, that every generation who doesn't rebuild the Holy Temple is in effect guilty of destroying it. As such, each year, the decree is renewed in the Heavenly Court that the Holy Temple should remain destroyed. Therefore, the eve of the Tenth of Teveth is the opportune time to beg Hashem to reverse the decree, and rather than having the Temple remain destroyed for another year, it should be built this year. To invoke Divine compassion, Rav Arush is calling for a worldwide simultaneous recitation of the Shema prayer on Monday night, 21 Dec., 2015 at 9PM Israel time, which is 7PM London, 2PM NYC, 1PM Chicago, 12 noon Denver and 11AM Los Angeles. Please join us.

To further invoke Divine compassion, as Rav Shalom explains, we all must pray for four things:

  1. That the Kingdom of Heaven should rule on earth;
  2. That King David should rule in Israel;
  3. That the Holy Temple should be rebuilt forthright;
  4. That we should all return to Hashem in complete teshuva.

Rav Arush shlit'a stresses that this is a critical time and conducive for the Geula, the full redemption of our people.

Here's the original clip in Hebrew. Enjoy it and have a wonderful new week with good tidings.
